5 Can’t Miss Halloween Parties in LA and Hollywood

Headed to LA this October? This city really knows how to throw a spooky shindig if you’ve ever seen one. Don’t miss out on your chance to party alongside an array of ghouls and goblins this Halloween, at one of these five best Halloween parties in Los Angeles.
1. The W Hollywood Rooftop Halloween Masquerade
Attend the fifth-annual Masquerade Halloween Party at W Hollywood’s Loft & Wet Deck. The party has earned a reputation for itself as the top masquerade costume and Halloween party in Hollywood. Not only do you get to enjoy amazing views from this rooftop space, but you’ll also enjoy dancing to the best LA DJs and mingling with loads of other masked revelers.
2. West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval
If street parties are more your style than rooftop bashes, then make plans to join 500,000 other partiers at the largest Halloween street party in the world. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval offers loads of entertainment, photo stations, food and drinks (just keep in mind that you’ll have to get your drinks from the street-side bars and restaurants; as an all-ages event, the Carnaval itself does not serve drinks directly). Expect to see some famous faces in attendance. In years past, attendees have included Rihanna, Queen Latifah and Lisa Vanderpump.

3. NoHo Monster Bash
Each year, the NoHo Monster Bash runs with a theme that draws cosplayers and other fanatics out of the woodwork to show off their stellar costuming, makeup and hair skills. This year’s theme is “Naughty Fairy Tales,” so break out your most risqué interpretations of Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella and all the rest. Prizes are given out for best costumes and guests are promised a wickedly good time surrounded by some seriously impressive entertainers and fans.

4. The Halloween Opera at Ace Hotel
So maybe your idea of a good Halloween party includes watching your favorite scary movies with your favorite people. If so, there’s something in LA for you, too. The LA Opera has an annual residency at the Theatre at Ace Hotel and each year, around Halloween, the opera orchestra performs live alongside a scary movie. This year’s flick is Psycho, and you’ll simply never see the movie the same way again once you’ve heard the score performed live.
5. Halloween Monster Night
Each year, LURE Hollywood puts on its Hollywood Monster Night for an over-the-top evening of fun. The venue itself includes three bars and multiple dance floors and the music is provided by top Hollywood DJs. Prizes are awarded for best overall costume of the night, as well as scariest and sexiest costumes of the night. If you have your eye on this exclusive event, though, you’ll want to grab your tickets sooner rather than later. They’re always bound to sold out, as this is one of Los Angeles’ premier Halloween parties year after year.
