Here at LA Insider Tours , not only do we love helping you explore Los Angeles, we also love to travel. We know that an important part of travelling is where you lay your head at night. There are a lot of awesome hotels in Los Angeles and our clients have stayed all over from Downton to Hollywood to the beach cities. While there are too many hotels that we love to count, we have put together a list of 5 of our favorite medium priced hotels that our clients have stayed at over the years. You can’t go wrong booking a great room at any of these terrific places.
Downtown LA – The Residence Inn @ LA Live
When you are in Downtown LA, you are truly in the heart of Los Angeles. Wonderful restaurants, terrific shopping – check out the great jewelry district – and a quick drive to Hollywood and Santa Monica, staying in Downtown LA is a lot of fun. There are some awesome hotels in DTLA and if you are looking for a great value and a nice stay, we would recommend The Residence Inn @ LA Live.
At the Residence Inn LA Live, you are not only centrally located to all of the great things LA has to offer, but you are also across from the Nokia theatre, Staples center and the Metro Center. The great thing about the Residence Inn is that it is set up for extended stays. With large rooms with kitchenettes, it’s also perfect for families and some rooms have some amazing panoramic views of Los Angeles. Plus it is a part of the Marriott Hotel chain, so you know you can trust their service and reliability.
Santa Monica – The Loews Hotel
A beach town in a big city, Santa Monica is the perfect destination for relaxation and play. Whether cruising its beaches along Pacific Coast Highway, riding the carousel on The Santa Monica Pier or stepping into the shops on Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica offers something for everyone. And while there, we recommend The Loews Hotel.
If you know the luxury hotel chain, Loews, you know you won’t be disappointed when you stay in one of the 20 hotels around the US that Loews owns. If you stay at the Loews in Santa Monica, you will find a beautiful hotel with a beach front setting. Everyone loves the outdoor pool, but we love how family friendly the hotel is. They have professional babysitting services on site PLUS the Loews Santa Monica is pet friendly which means the WHOLE family can vacation in this beautiful hotel. And, if the beach doesn’t call to you, then you can always stay at Loews in Hollywood which boasts spacious rooms and a fantastic rooftop pool.
Hollywood – The Magic Castle Hotel
Staying in Hollywood is a lot of fun. From the Walk of Fame to the Dolby Theatre to Hollywood & Highland, there is a lot to see and do while you are there. And we love The Magic Castle hotel for its close proximity to the action.
Centrally located in Hollywood, the Magic Castle Hotel is a hidden gem in Los Angeles. This former apartment building boasts large rooms with full kitchens – perfect for families. You can easily walk to Hollywood Boulevard and some awesome Hollywood hot spots. As a guest of the hotel you will also get access to the famous Magic Castle club next door where magicians perform nightly. Located in a mansion built in 1908, you have to be a member to get in, unless you are a hotel guest and then all obstacles…disappear.
Beverly Hills – Luxe Rodeo Drive
90210 is probably one of the most recognizable zip codes in the country. It is not only home to the rich & famous, iconic tv shows & movies and some of the best shopping ever, Beverly Hills also has a rich history in Los Angeles. We think you can’t go wrong staying at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive.
If you enjoy deluxe accommodations at a fair price, then Luxe Hotels is a great place to stay. With three locations in Los Angeles, one in Beverly Hills, one in downtown and the other on Sunset , you can choose to be in the middle of the action or a bit removed from it all – whatever your vacation calls for. The Rodeo Drive hotel is in the middle of all of the great things Beverly Hills has to offer – world class restaurants and shopping. At the Sunset location, you will find yourself staying on a 7 acre estate that boasts 522 square foot STANDARD rooms (that is bigger than some apartments!). While there you can swim in the heated pool or play a little tennis on the tennis court where you can rent free tennis gear. At the Downtown City Center location, you will be close to everything that downtown has to offer – great restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
LAX – The Embassy Suites North & South
Being next to the airport is a convenient way to catch your early flight and there are a ton of hotels in the area. Plus, LAX is close to Manhattan Beach on one side and Marina Del Rey on the other side so you have a variety of great restaurants and activities to choose from. If you are looking for a place with a fair price and good service, then we would recommend The Embassy Suites.
Many of our clients stay at The Embassy Suites North and the Embassy Suites South. With spacious rooms and great customer service, Embassy Suites also offers a free airport shuttle for all of their guests. They also have really reasonable rates which makes it great for families and for people on a budget.
