Our 5 Favorite Luxury Hotels in Los Angeles

While you are in Los Angeles, you can find a plethora of hotels to stay in. From just a place to drop your bag while you are on the run all the way up to a place that you never want to go back to reality from after staying there, we have them all. Many of LA Insider Tours customers have shared with us some of their favorites. Combined with our love of travel and a great hotel we have compiled lists of hotels we love. Below are 5 of our favorite luxurious hotels that you can find by the sea in Santa Monica, next to great entertainment spots  downtown  and an iconic hotel in Beverly Hills, we want to make sure you really enjoy living like a star in LA.

Beverly Wilshire Hotel – Beverly Hills

Serving as the primary filming location for “Pretty Woman”, The Beverly Wilshire Hotel was built in the 1920’s. Not only did Julia Roberts snag Richard Gere there, but the hotel is also featured in the show “Entourage”. It also served as a residence for Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty and John Lennon at various times. Now run by The Four Seasons , this iconic hotel is the perfect getaway with its beautifully appointed rooms and close proximity to Rodeo Drive and other amazing Beverly Hills shopping. Plus, you will get the great service that only comes with the high standards of The Four Seasons Hotel group – what more could you ask for?

Shutters on the Beach – Santa Monica

If you are looking for a stellar beach front location, then Shutters on the Beach is an amazing luxury location during your stay in LA. Designed by Michael Smith (whose portfolio includes the Obama White House – talk about star power), this beautiful hotel is the place to see and be seen. Not only do you get an ocean view, but you can see many power players in Hollywood making their deals over drinks or a meal at one of their two amazing restaurants – Pico One or Coast.  You will truly feel like a billionaire in one of their sumptuous rooms and as you travel throughout the hotel you will see artwork by David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein. Finally, their service is unparalleled. Each staff member works hard to ensure your stay there is the best you have ever had.

The Ritz Carlton – Downtown LA

If you have ever stayed in a Ritz Carlton Hotel, then you already know that you have entered the lap of luxury upon opening your hotel room door. This experience is no different at the Ritz Carlton in Downtown LA. Situated atop the JW Marriott hotel in the LA Live complex, you get amazing views of Downtown Los Angeles. From their roof top pool and bar to their incredible spa, you will feel like you have won the hotel jackpot. And let’s not forget the rooms – with their feather beds and huge bathrooms you will never want to leave. If your wallet is feeling particularly swanky, you should stay in the Ritz Carlton Suite. It is bigger than most homes approaching 3,000  square feet and as luxurious as they come with an entertaining area, wet bar, seating for 10 and so much more.

The London – West Hollywood

We all know that Hollywood is one huge playground. This is why we think that The London West Hollywood is the perfect spot to unwind and put your feet up in the lap of luxury. First off, there is no room there that is smaller than 750 square feet which by certain city standards is a fantastic apartment.  Next, the hotel houses Michelin-Star restaurants by world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. Add in a pool with panoramic views, a quiet location and FREE town car service to anywhere within a 2 mile radius, you won’t be disappointed in this awesome hotel off the Sunset Strip.

The Crowne Plaza – LAX

You don’t necessarily think “luxury” when you think of hotels near LAX. Most of the people who stay in these hotels have early flights in and out of LAX and want to stay close to this very busy travel hub. But once you walk into The Crowne Plaza near LAX, you find a different story. Situated about a ½ mile from the airport, it’s location is ideal for business travelers. However, their large, modern and airy rooms show you that you are staying in an upscale hotel rather than just a place to sleep in between flights.  They also have some great restaurants. While staying in a hotel next to LAX means you aren’t too close to LA attractions, you can always hop in a cab and travel down to Manhattan Beach for some fun and be back in time to catch some z’s before your flight.
