5 Family Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Los Angeles

There is only a couple of weeks left in 2015 and while we are still finishing up our Christmas shopping, New Year’s Eve will be here before you know it! While there are parties galore all over Los Angeles that many people over 21 can attend, we know how important it is for families of all ages to have fun on the last night of 2015. Here are 5 fantastic ways that you and your family can usher in 2016 in LA.

Grand Park

Ranging over 90 acres of Downtown LA, the New Years Eve party at Grand Park in Downtown LA is fun for the whole family. Located in the heart of Los Angeles, you can ring in the New Year with great music and plenty of food. There are even large-scale animated projections on 22 stories of city hall that the kids will love. Over 50,000 people will be attending this huge event and it starts at 8pm. If you have little ones, then you might want to go early to beat the crowds before bedtime. You can also bring your own food and nonalcoholic drinks with you. Travel tip – take the Metro so you don’t have to find parking.

The LA Zoo

For the first time ever, the LA Zoo is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration for families. While there, the family can enjoy the LA Zoo Lights along with a dinner buffet and soft drinks along with free champagne for the adults. Kids can take a ride on the carousel or make some arts and crafts. There will be a DJ and a cash bar. Plus, there is a broadcast of the New York Times Square ball drop at 9pm – which means you can usher in the New Year with the East Coast and still get your kids to bed relatively early. Now thats what we call a win win.

Santa Monica Pier and ICE @ Santa Monica

Santa Monica is such a fun city and a great place for families to enjoy themselves in a relaxed environment. New Year’s Eve is no different. You have several options while spending the evening in Santa Monica. You can enjoy ice skating at ICE or spend time on the Santa Monica pier. The kids will love riding the roller coasters at the pier all night long and they will run until just past midnight so you can blast your way into the New Year! You can also stroll along 3rd Street Promenade and get some great food and just enjoy the overall party atmosphere.

Universal Studios

We love Universal Studios for so many reasons and New Years Eve is no different. You can spend the day saying farewell to the holidays with their Grinchmas celebration. Your kids can take part in the Whoville sing a long and take photos with the Grinch and his dog Max. Cindy Lou-Who will also be hosting a story time. Part movie theme park, part movie history, Universal Studios is a fun place to take the whole family. If you don’t want to spend the day at the Park you can have some fun at CityWalk. There are a lot of restaurants and fun activities for the family. It does get quite crowded, but if you go early and leave early you will have a good experience!
